My Favourite Places
Depending on your own religious orientation, you might not agree with some of the must-see's on my list. There are also items here that are not necessarily what I would normally enjoy, but when in Israel.....
My first and always favourite stop is the Western Wall (Kotel) in Old City, Jerusalem.
Within the confines of the Old City walls are the Western Wall Tunnel Tour, Ramparts Walk, Temple Institute Museum, The Burnt House, The Cardo, Tower of David and the Ophel Archeological Park. There are also many sites for Christian visitors.
A close second is the Yad Vashem Holocaust Centre, which is located on Har Hazikaron and is nowadays so easy to reach by Light Rail. The Centre has grown substantially in recent years.
There are also the Bible Lands Museum and the Shrine of the Book and many other touristy sites in Jerusalem.
The Dead Sea is an experience in floating that cannot be missed! Visit the lowest point on the whole earth! Very close by is Masada Fortress. Come with your hat, sunglasses and litres of water please!
If you prefer a lively night-life then Tel Aviv is the place to rub elbows with lots of beautiful people. Pristine Mediterranean beaches with calm waves make this a wonderful holiday spot.
These are just a few.... come experience Israel for yourself!
